HROC has raised over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Employees from across all departments took part in two separate sporting tasks in a bid to raise money for the two worthwhile charities.
16 employees put their stamina to the test as they completed Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘Longest Golf Day’ challenge, completing four rounds of golf (72 holes) in under 24 hours. Teeing off at 4.50am, the team took more than 400 shots and walked nearly 20 miles each, raising a total of £870.
Four members of the PR team also took part in Cancer Research UK’s ‘Walk All Over Cancer’ challenge which set fundraisers the task of walking over 10,000 steps a day for a month. All team members reached their target, walking a total of over 1,250,800 steps across the 30 days.
Carl Hazard, managing director of HROC, said: “Our motivation for taking these challenges on was to raise money for two charities which make such a difference to peoples’ lives.
“All members of the team have been, or know someone who has been, affected by cancer at some stage in their lives – so we wanted to help support these good causes and future research.”
