When a newly acquired client presented us with a television brief for a product designed to enhance the flexibility of living spaces, HROC had to show a little bit of flexibility itself.
The brief to create and produce 30 second TV commercials to launch a new type of plasterboard found its way into the HROC creative department late on the Thursday afternoon before Good Friday and the start of the Easter weekend, with staff already meandering towards the building exits.
Yet just seventy-two hours later, after three very long and exhausting days, HROC had cracked it. We pooled together our considerable in-house creative resource and not only came up with a raft of fully scripted creative executions but also rendered a good proportion of them in full storyboard format ready to present to the client. Not to mention nailing down the production partner to help bring the project to life. The revolutionary plasterboard, part of a broader range of products designed to raise the standard of houses and construction, eliminates the need for drilling or specialist fixings when hanging heavy items off the wall – enabling householders to hang as much as 15kg off a single screw. And HROC certainly didn’t hang around long either, managing to take the project from brief through conception to client approval, in just a matter of days, despite the intrusion of a couple of bank holidays and Easter Sunday in between. The pace of the project has continued unabated. The TV commercial is now in full production, with room sets being built at a secret location just off the M5 motorway, and will be hitting the television screens on a host of satellite and Channel 4 Group channels around September. We don’t want to give too much away, apart from to say that the ad sharply contrasts the difference between conventional walling and the convenience, flexibility and enhanced durability of the new plasterboard.
Keep an eye out, too, in the near future for our ‘behind the scenes’ look at how the commercial was put together. And how HROC made light work of a TV campaign for the product that makes light work of hanging heavy items.
If you have a deadline that is two hours or two weeks, a desire for a service that goes above and beyond, and a need for award winning creative that heightens the return on your communication, why not give HROC a call.
